The per-visit price is only half the story. What matters, especially with gray, is how often you’re in the chair.

If you’re covering gray on a three-to-four-week schedule, a root touch-up starting at $85 turns into thirteen or more visits a year. That’s roughly $1,100 or more annually, before cuts and toners, which is why so many women describe covering as feeling like a slave to the dye. The color looks great; the schedule is the problem.

Gray blending flips the math. Each visit costs more, starting at $170, but the soft grow-out stretches appointments to every eight to sixteen weeks. Four to six visits a year instead of thirteen. For most clients, the yearly total lands at or below what they were already spending on coverage, with far fewer Saturdays given up to it.

Neither answer is wrong. Some women genuinely prefer the polished, fully covered look and don’t mind the schedule, and that choice gets zero judgment here. The point of publishing every price is that you get to run your own numbers instead of discovering them one appointment at a time.
